What are your qualifications?
I am currently undertaking a yoga teacher training course with Yogic Wisdom.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). This means that I am committed to upholding the BACP’s ethical guidelines for professional practice and work in a safe and ethical manner.
I am fully insured and have a current Working with Children Check.
How will I know you are the right therapist for me?
Only you can decide this. I offer a free initial phone consultation where we can have a chat and you can decide whether you feel comfortable booking a first session. Once we meet, usually by the end of the session you will have a sense of whether you feel you can work work with me or not. There is no obligation to continue and no hard feelings if you feel I am not the one for you. The most important thing when searching for the right therapist is whether you feel comfortable and can trust them.
What will happen in our first session?
At the beginning of the session, I tend to introduce myself and talk a little about my approach to therapy, and we will talk about how we agree to work together. You will then have the chance to tell me more about yourself and what has brought you to therapy. I will listen and try to understand how you are feeling. At the end of the session it will be your choice whether you decide to book in for further sessions. There will be no obligation to see me again if you decide I am not the therapist for you.
What can I expect from therapy?
How often will we meet?
How long will we see each other for?
What are your fees?
This may seem a lot of money to pay every week, but your money not only pays for the time I spend with you in my room, but the client work I do around that time, room rental, my professional membership, my insurance, and my supervision.
When considering the cost of weekly therapy it is worth asking yourself what is more important than your mental well-being and getting the most out of life? Therapy can provide you with many important and life-changing benefits (see my blog post for more information on this) which will hopefully more than compensate for the money spent. What greater investment than to increase your quality of life into the long term?
